I pointed at her phone when the message notification sound came up.

My lips parted but no sound came out. Gwen took one calm step closer, her gaze locked on mine like she was pinning me in place. “That’s for stabbing me in the back,” she said quietly. Her voice didn’t shake. Mine did. She leaned in just slightly, her eyes cold enough to freeze blood. “And just so you know… I’m gonna get back with Hayden. Be his Luna. And you—” her smile sharpened like a blade, “—like always, will remain hidden.” Hidden.

Frankenstein replied instantly. “What?” I didn’t quite get it. “You’ve been selected for the auditioned role of Nerissa in the upcoming movie – Blind Date Wolves!” My world spun around me as Gwen erupted in an uproar of joy, some of the audience and the other girls joining in a round of applause. I couldn’t believe this. Was this really happening? My chest was pounding, and tears filled my eyes.

The jealousy burns so sharp it almost blinds me. “She’s just the new mystery, Kira,” Gwen says beside me, trying to soothe what she doesn’t understand. She twirls her hair, pretending not to see the storm brewing inside me. “Once the shine fades, they’ll forget about her. No discipline, no real training? She won’t last.” I let out a low breath, pretending I believe her. “It’s fine,” I lie. “I should focus on more important things. Like planning my wedding.” Gwen blinks at me like I’ve grown a second head.

Alicia's POV “Ahhh!” A horrifying scream tore through my brain as my eyes glued at the person on the floor. Why? “Is she breathing?” The voices around me echoed in my head as my eyes stared at the lifeless body in front of me. I could feel it cause I was the closest to her body. She wasn't breathing. Gwen Stefani… she's dead. “What's going on?” “What are you all doing?! Stop standing there like fools and call the school's nurse!”
