Summer trembled as she climbed up from the floor.
She glanced at Stella, then turned to go upstairs.
But just as she turned, Stella spoke coldly.
“Gray.”
“Yes, Miss.”
“Starting now, everyone does their own work. Every drop of water, every grain of rice, can only be exchanged for each person’s own share. If they can’t finish, cut the portion in half.”
Summer froze.
