The real battle had only just begun. I raised my hand again.

A breath. She forced herself upright, leaning on Zarek and Zevi. She wiped the blood from her face with the back of her hand, her fingers trembling. "We fight," she said hoarsely. "We fight him." A rumble split the night sky—thunder, or perhaps something worse—and in the distance, far beyond the safety of their pack lands, Veyra felt the earth scream as Nyros finished his dark ascension. The true battle had begun. And they were already bleeding.

“Let the blood speak.” The crowd held its breath. The gods leaned close. And the third battle began.

Me: “Not if we rewrite the ending.” Vanessa grew to become us. “We fight. We evolve.” Her eyes glowed brighter. “Or we disappear.” The sky fractured. And the battle for life itself began. The First Battle The stars had been gone. Not covered. Not hidden. Just… gone. Reality trembled because the Harbingers arrived. Vanessa stood motionless, her sparkling eyes unreadable. “They are here.” Rachel’s palms shook. “Oh, hell no. Nope. Nope.” Ethan gritted his teeth. “If that is the way it ends, we're swinging.”

Inside it is a piece of paper carrying numbers, and whoever matches a number with another gets to fight together till the other dies. He still gave them time to prepare themselves. Since the fight would take place in the evening, Till daybreak if possible. Immediately after Nathan left, they all gathered around, yelling out. What? He can't be serious. He is not asking us to kill ourselves. Is he crazy? One girl cried out.

“Stay close to me. Do not leave my sight.” “I promise,” she nodded, gripping her weapon tightly. Adrian gave the signal, and the attack began. “GO! GO! GO!” Explosions rocked the ground as they blew open the outer defenses, and the sound of gunfire erupted instantly, shattering the silence of the morning. The battle had officially begun, and it was fierce and deadly from the very first second. TO BE CONTINUED...
