When I stepped into the hallway, Levi was already waiting at the bottom of the stairs. He was dressed in black no tie, sleeves rolled, the kind of simple that looked deliberate. His eyes caught mine and paused there, quiet approval flickering into something more private.
“You clean up well,” I said, half teasing.
His mouth curved. “So do you,” he said. Then, softer, “More than well.”
He offered his arm. I took it because it felt natural, and because something about the moment didn’t need to be questioned.
