Standing about eight feet in front of me, seemingly as glued to the spot as I was, was Liam. And he was staring at me. Crystal-blue eyes. But he didn’t seem like the Liam I knew. He didn’t look at the Liam I knew. His hair was now dyed gold and he had a devil-may-care smug look on his face. His hands were in the pocket of his ripped jeans and he had a playboy glint in his eyes. He was wearing a leather jacket with a tight shirt underneath and I could see the cobra tattoo on the back of his palm.

Liam Arthur Evangelista. Do not be confused—we might have looked like each other, but Leandro and I were not twins. So, may I have this chance to know the name of this pretty girl beside me?” His description of me made my brain float in the air. Inside, the interrogation began. Aunt Carol wanted to know when the wedding was. My cousin Julia asked if Liam had any single friends. Grandma quizzed him about his favorite pies. And through it all, Liam was smooth, attentive, and annoyingly convincing.

“I’m just… hiding too. I’m Liam. Liam Vance.” Aria stiffened. Vance. “Don’t worry,” Liam laughed softly, raising his hands. “I’m the good cousin. Not the one who crashes Porsches. I’m an architect.” “An architect,” Aria repeated. “I restore old buildings,” Liam explained. “I fix things that are broken.” He looked at the Temple. “Like this. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Liam looks thoughtful before he nods and asks me what I would like to know. "Everything, I guess." I replied, the warmth of his hand slowly creeping up my arm. He gestured at the brand name with a proud smirk playing on his lips. “Your... your brand?” I looked down at the V.L. boldly written on the bag. That's when I remembered that he has a cosmetics company. Alas, I wasn't crazy for thinking about his name back at the mall. “V.L., that's my name, Vincent Liam,” he confirmed my guess. I knew I wasn't tripping. I only knew their family had a cosmetics company, but I never bothered to know what their brand name was—I guess that's one of the reasons why they kept saying I'm not fit to be Mrs. Liam.

I missed my pack. “Mr. Stonewood,” a sales lady said, rushing over. I watched her gush over him. “Here for some more earrings? I have a lovely pair I think you’ll like. They just came in.” “No, thank you Maria,” Liam said, smiling. “I’m here on business today. This is Trista Ston…uh,” he caught himself mid-sentence. “Moonlar. Trista Moonlar. And this is Jonhson Cartwright. They’re both here from overseas.”

Louis to tremble while Kelly looked like she had seen a ghost. "W-we are s-sorry, s-sir." Mr. Louis stuttered, scratching the back of his neck in the process as he refused to raise his head up.
