Making a compromise doesn't mean you’ve lost your soul. It just means you’re smart enough to survive to fight another day." She squeezed my fingers again before letting go. "The hunger for autonomy is powerful. I get it. But freedom isn't just doing what you want. It’s owning what happens after you do it. Not just for you, but for the people who pay the price for your choices."

She seemed taken aback by my words. "Do you miss it?" she asked, and I hesitated before admitting, Do I miss it? Did I miss having a life outside of my prison? “Of course I do but… for my family, I would do anything.” I felt a pang of sadness but quickly tried to change the subject. “But don’t you worry about that-”

Her fingers brushed the cool plastic of the burner phone, hidden deep beneath. She drew it out and stared at it for a long moment, the weight of it heavy in her palm. That tiny device carried the last spark of her hope, the only thread connecting her to the chance of freedom. Her hands trembled as she powered it on. The screen blinked to life. For a moment, there was nothing, then a single vibration, followed by the soft ping of an incoming message. She opened it quickly, her breath caught in her throat. “I regret to inform you that Alpha Gabriel is uncomfortable housing you in his pack. I am sorry for this bad news, and I hope you find a home soon.”

To answer the questions that were raised in the minds of the readers, yes I'm working on a sequel. A sequel was always the part of the plan and my idea was to leave the readers to a cliffhanger to get them excited. But a lot of the readers were being critical of my decision, which is completely understandable. 'Set Me Free' was not revised so sorry for the typos, I will try to mend my mistakes as much as possible. The sequel is called 'Am I Free?' the book sheds light on what actually happened to Daniel Robinson, if he ever gets to meet Isabelle Davis. Most importantly the sequel gives the much awaited ending.
