In all of my twenty-three years of being alive, I have never been this excited for my birthday, well, not until three years ago. They were the tears of a woman who had passed through a lot in believing in love. Tears of a woman who wasn’t afraid to love.

Shocked was written on his face while meeting my gaze. “Going outside was your childhood dream?” He asked. I bit my lower lips, turning my head away from the other direction. “I have grown up alone with no family next to me and being different from others. It was the orphanage with me during those hard times of my life and when I turned fifteen, I decided to live independently. I thought I would find a perfect life for myself when I exit the orphanage, but I was wrong. The world made me realize that it's just the beginning of my life and there are so many things that are about to happen.”

It took everything in me to clear my throat and stare away from those red tempting lips of his and to stop imagining them on mine. "I don't remember anything about my childhood, but from what I know, it was my life alone as an orphan teenager who was striving to cope among the people who hate my kind." My mind wandered to the everyday struggle when I was still on the street. I would wake up every day with an empty stomach, growling from the pain of the wooden bed and the hunger. It was such a struggle between death and life. With each step away from the bed, my bones always cracked, and I remember I counted the ticking seconds of the day by the crack of my bones.

"To me, this is all like a dream come true." "Tell me, before they found you, how was your life? I heard you lived in an orphanage?" Grace asked enthusiastically. "Yes," I said. "I don't want to bore you with stories about my life. The life of an orphanage child is not interesting at all." Grace's beautiful eyes widened and she slapped my thigh hard enough to surprise me. "Hey, don't underestimate children who are raised in orphanages," said Grace fiercely. "I also lived in an orphanage until I was twelve years old and my life was quite exciting."
