Life With Picasso Novels & Stories

Darak Island was a stone's throw from Lascora, its shellfish farming industry on the rise. In my previous life, I worked at the city's Fisheries Bureau, rubbing shoulders with plenty of shellfish farmers. That was when I fell in love with the art of shellfish farming. If it were not for my early death, I would have teamed up with someone to get into shellfish farming in the future. I finally had the chance to dive into the shellfish market and sell pearls.

Mara, are you stupid? "You should skin him alive, break his bones, and--" "Nina." "What?" "I brought the collage." Nina froze and looked toward the corner. The portrait of Preston made from countless photos of us leaned there. The space over his heart had always been empty. Now I had filled it. With a solo photo of myself. It was a photo I had taken in Iceland. I stood in the snow wearing a red parka, blue ice caves behind me. He was not there.

She would never go back to that, but they were grown now and she had the right to go out for a picnic and enjoy herself! “What is your problem, Sean! I didn’t intentionally upset any of you. I just got back from a life-altering event! Jack understands what I’ve been through. Have you ever been on the brink of death like that. On the side of a mountain, clinging to life? This can’t be equated to drug addiction!” Though she herself had thought them similar when she was trying to survive.

Why were they getting so worked up merely by a painting of a naked woman? Have they not seen a naked woman before? Zhang Tieniu was a layman, but Tian Ye knew a little about this. When he heard the name, he immediately realized that the woman in the picture was Picasso's last wife. In Picasso's entire life, he had many women and Jacqueline was his last wife. During the eight years that they had been together, although this old man had a mistress, Jacqueline accepted this fact. They continued to stay together to complete the final period of Picasso's life.

I whisper to myself after a couple of minutes staring at the painting. I shake my head and eat a piece of slice melon. I know life is so hard to deal especially if things didn't go as we planned but then it would be more difficult if we always reflect reality into fantasy. Life doesn't have a happy ending, it's a constant cycle of good and bad, happy and sad, life and death. Sighing, I continue putting spread on the slice of wheat bread when suddenly someone tapped the table making me flinch. My both eyes are both wide open as I met Vicenzo's stare.

“My mate, Cort, thought the article about the club opening caused us to lose the gig, but I found out it was because of our drummer and bassist. Needless to say, they’ve been let go.” “Oh, no! What are you going to do now?” He shook his head and said, “I’m not sure yet. Right now, I’m making sketches in the park and working on my art.” “Do you sell your art?” she asked, reaching for her purse. “I’ll buy the drawing you did of me.” Shaking his head, he said, “It’s not come down to that, but if you like it, then it’s free of charge.” “I can’t do that,” Shea said, getting her wallet out. “How much would the sketch be?”

After I unzipped the compressed file, I played the video. In a church that had seen better days, a young man, looking to be about 18, was playing an old piano. The sunlight streaming in illuminated his bleached shirt, causing him to almost glow. The clean, innocent vibe he gave off was like a breath of fresh air, a gentle spring breeze caressing one lightly. Despite only half her face being visible, it was clear from Sylvia's profile that she was smiling gently. Her gaze was also full of adoration as she lost herself in the soothing music.

The male suddenly slipped out of his grasp, walking to the other side of the hallway, his eyes on an artwork that Paris prized as his most important asset. It was a picture of Marcos, laying on a bed, surrounded with silk and flowers with a sleepy look in his eyes. There was a feeling any normal person felt when staring at it. Peace. Serenity. It was like looking at the face of God through an angel of his. Promising you eternal life by letting go at his feet.

ZICO kissed the picture and kept it back. He had tears in his eyes yet he couldn't shade them. If life was fair, he would not have taken the route he took in life. He had lived a life of emptiness, a life of miseries, and many more. The path we take in life determines whether our lives will be fulfilling or not and as far as ZICO was concerned, his life has not been fulfilling at all. Grievance and pain have been the order of the day for him.

she cried to us as she handed us the painting that was meant for us. I just smiled at her as she hugged us. I looked down at the painting I was holding. "Life in the Darkness" — The Woman Who Lived in the Dark." ** Life in Darkness has signed off.
