I looked up and my stomach dropped. Aziel Nightbane. The monster himself. His golden eyes burned down at me with pure hate. Up close he smelled like blood and smoke and something darker that made my wolf stir. “Who are you running from boy?” he growled. His voice was low and rough like gravel under boots. His grip tightened on my arm hard enough to bruise. I gasped for air and forced words out even though my throat felt tight. “Please. I am nothing. Just a slave omega. Let me go and I will disappear. You will never see me again I swear it.”

I whispered as the sun began to peek over the FUTO horizon, painting the campus in shades of rose and gold. He looked at me, and for the first time in fifty-five chapters, the shadows were gone from his eyes. He leaned in, kissing me with a softness that made the world stand still. It wasn't a kiss of desperation; it was a kiss of peace. "It's over, Elara," he whispered against my lips. "The Monster is dead. Only the man is left."

" I almost laughed at how ridiculous it sounded. I used to think Ophelia was just born rotten. As it turned out, Lauren wasn't any better. Like they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I shot Lauren a cold glance, then suddenly waved toward the distance, my voice bright. "Mom! You're here!" Lauren jerked her head up and followed my gaze. And Warg said "Watch out" and then the monster opens up his mouth again and hits us again with his flash blacklight that burst

“I didn’t get the chance to thank you.” Her breath shook. “Thank me? You kissed me without my permission,” she whispered. “You scared me. And now—now you’re here? Why? What do you want from me?” The corner of his mouth tilted, almost amused. “So you know who I am.” “You’re Adriano Greco,” she said, her voice trembling. “The monster people talk about.” He took another step closer. “Monster?” he repeated softly. “That’s what they call me?”

“Purple-eyed werewolves are very special - you know that. They are descendants of the first wolves. The monsters know that and want your blood.” “Yeah, but why don’t they try to eat you? You’re half-angel.” “Mhm, but I conceal my smell; even if a monster eats me, they can’t steal my powers from my flesh. You, on the other hand, are different. If monsters eat you, they gain your powers, which is why they are trying.” “That’s scary...” I take Aurora’s hand in mine and squeeze it comfortingly. “It will be alright,” I assure her. “Nothing bad is going to happen to you, Duchess.”

The white lines glowed even brighter. Light shot through the chains, burning my arms and going into my chest. Aurek—STOP—DON'T LET IT DIE—! He stopped, his sword in the air. Too late. The monster fell and turned into smoke. The room went silent. Then the circle exploded. Energy burst out. The air cracked. The chains glowed with fire. The floor shook. The chanting stopped. A voice echoed, cold and lifeless. Not human. Not alive. Release the vessel.

"What, you seek for, you will get, but to get it, you must answer my riddle correctly," Darrell and Alyssa looked at each other confused. "A riddle?" Darrell asked. "Yes a riddle, but if you get it wrong, you will be squashed just like the others," the monster said and jammed his fist with his palm and pointed one of his fingers to the skeletons lying down on the dark corners. "And your remains shall be dust!" The monster echoed.
