They stumbled backward into the furniture, knocking over chairs and scattering important papers everywhere. "Close your eyes!" Lisa shouted over the noise. She dragged me toward the large glass doors that led to the office balcony.

At least, we would all have some weapon lethal to the Dark Fae monsters. The witches and warlock discussed the range of spells they could use should we be attacked. Hannah, one of the second group of witches, had perfected a light spell that would be useful during the night. It was like a mini sun that would light up the area. She didn't think it would scare any of the creatures or render them less harmful as they would be during actual daylight, but it would make our lives safer if we had to attack them.

It is time you bowed to true power!” He charged at me one last time, his claws aiming for my throat. I sidestepped. His claws nearly grazed my cheek. I grabbed his arm, channeling all my energy into him. The light consumed him, spreading through his veins like fire. “Bow or die!” I roared. He let out a piercing scream, his body convulsing as the overwhelming power took hold of him. "No!" he bellowed, his voice cracking as the blinding light consumed him. "This cannot be happening!"

I murmured. That gave me an idea. I fumbled through my bag and found the keychain flashlight, which wasn't going to be helpful, but the other side was a laser pointer. I pointed it towards a threshold in a mirror. As the light left the flashlight, the red beam became visible. It wasn't just a spot like in our world, instead, it was a path of light. "Whoa," I whispered. Then louder, I asked, "Can you see that?" Remi's image looked left and right following the red beam in front of him. "Yes! Let me follow it."
