That evening, the ancient Moon Tree glowed brighter than it ever had in recorded history. Its magnificent silver leaves shimmered with ethereal energy beneath the radiant light of the full moon. Every single member of the royal family stood directly beneath its sprawling branches—Killian, Seraphina, Aiden, and Leo.

Later on, in the bordering sacred grounds of Dark Moon and Palefang, a ceremony commenced. The night was bright with the full moon's radiance, as I stood opposite Lyon on the altar, dressed in simply ceremonial robes, the evening breeze carrying the scent of snow and pine freshness to us. Only the elders of both packs and our family were present, and the ceremony was solemn. Lyon's eyes were locked into mind, as he quietly read the ancient vows, and then leaned toward me. His breath was warm and steady as he leaned toward my neck. I closed my eyes, feeling his canines pierce my skin with precision.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN The oak tree was huge and from where Lucas stood, its shape reminded him of a piece of broccoli. The great trunk was thick and gnarled, the leaves spreading like a vast canopy of deep jade. This magnificent symbol of nature sat alone in a green field, an azure, cloudless sky as a backdrop. Lucas ambled up the hill. There was no such thing as urgency in a place such as this. His heart maintained the sense of peace he had carried since . . .

The flame started to illuminate the paper. Aiko is always fascinated with anything luminous, especially the ones that stand out in the dark. She carefully placed her lantern down to make it float in the water. “She was the one who pursued me.” She heard Goo continued. He was almost out of breath as he was talking while blowing into his cupped hands. Aiko smirked at the guy next to her then watched her lantern move towards the others. The lanterns floating in the water is beautiful beyond words. She put her hands together and bowed. “May our wishes be granted.”
