Cassian shouted, "Let the lightning strike!" A rumbling sound split the air, and five bolts of violet lightning appeared in the sky without any warning. By the time Pomona sensed danger, it was too late for her to avoid the attack. She had to watch as the five bolts of lightning struck her. Immediately, her bones cracked, and she was thrown over 30 feet aside, just barely alive. The lightning disappeared as quickly as it appeared, vanishing the moment it struck her. Dunley hurried over to Cassian, frantically asking, "Was that the Covenant of Lightning that you just used? One of the Madiora enchantments?"

When you’re struck by lightning, the joules of energy that run through your body can be lethal. With a direct lightning strike, your body becomes part of the main lightning discharge channel. One portion of the current moves along just over the skin, known as a flashover, whereas another portion of the current moves through your body, inflicting unspeakable damage, and sometimes death.

My body buzzed with thrilling heat, and then I groaned and gasped as another lightning strike hit. This time it was stronger, and I wanted to scream with both delight and fright. In the distance, I saw a storm coming toward me fast, spreading far and wide. Suddenly, it enveloped me in its embrace, hugging me tight within its darkness. Then came another lightning strike.

Hans sighed before saying, “Professor Tan, is it possible for a person to experience constant nightmares if there’s lightning?” “Nightmares?… There’s a lot of that causes it. And it’s possible that lightning can trigger it for some people. However, it’s a rare case.” Professor Tan Explained. Hans’s brows frowned and asked, “What do you mean by rare Professor?” “You see, nightmares are sometimes the result of a heavy trauma a person had experienced in the past… So, if lightning can trigger a person’s nightmare, it means that that person had a very traumatic experience caused by the lightning or something terrible happened to that person on the day when there’s lightning.”

When the lightning barrage was over, even the remains of this powerful creature were nowhere to be seen. A large Noble Lion gulped nervously upon witnessing this sight. And it hastily bowed its head when it saw the lightning god staring at it. Slowly the lightning god moved past them, and soon he was several meters away from them.

Bodies lay strewn across the land. The heavy rain washed away the bloodstains on the ground. Crackle! A bolt of lightning struck Wilbur. He suddenly reached out his right hand toward the sky because he was unwilling to give in. The lightning persisted for several seconds before dissipating. Moments later, the rain stopped, and the dark clouds drifted away.

Pan Phineas asked him. “Yes... the negative one and the positively charged ones,” Dorin replied. “As you know, lightning that is positively charged has a much stronger electric field since it comes from the top of the storm clouds, and thus, must burn more air as it reaches the negatively charged ground.” Dorin gave another nod. “Likewise, a lightning god with strong negative emotions brewing inside them, conjures lightning clouds and attracts positive lightning from within it.” Pan Phineas leaned before Dorin, took his other hand, and trailed his cold fingertips towards his upper arm.

I flinch despite myself. “It hit a tree right beside us.” The memory sharpens.
