Moonlit Shadows

Moonlit Shadows

But as they huddled together in the darkness, a faint light flickered in the distance, drawing their attention. "What is that?" Ezra asked, his spectral form wavering as he strained to see through the shadows. Malachi narrowed his eyes, his hand instinctively reaching for his weapon. "Stay alert," he warned, his voice low and cautious. With cautious steps, they approached the flickering light, their hearts pounding with anticipation. As they drew closer, the light coalesced into a dimly lit chamber, revealing an unexpected sight. Standing in the center of the room was a figure cloaked in shadows, their features obscured from view.

Rejected By My Husband: Cherished By My Three Brothers

Damian whipped around, dragging me tighter against him as dust exploded around us— And the lights in the building flickered and then went out completely. All we had left was darkness, blood, a hidden sniper closing in

Dark of Night

Dark of Night

Dark of Night Copyright 2019 Emily Goodwin Chapter One “What do you see when you look at this one?” The doctor holds up a card, showcasing an ink splotch that’s twisted and creepy, with eyes that follow you no matter where you go. I look at it, heart hammering away inside my chest. The mess of ink on the white paper reminds me of the monster that lurks in Nana and Papa’s basement, the one that tried to get Abby and Scott to go downstairs with it.

His Mask, My Sin

His Mask, My Sin

CHAPTER 65: WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT POV: Aidan The moment the power dies, the world changes. Not slowly. Not gently. It happens in a breath. Across the city, entire districts plunge into darkness at once. The skyline that once burned with neon and glass suddenly fractures into scattered islands of light. Hospitals remain lit. Government buildings too. Everything else flickers… then fades. From the balcony, the city looks wounded. Ezra stands beside me, completely still, his eyes scanning the horizon the way they do before a battle.

Bound To The Devil

Bound To The Devil

The horrors of the darkness choking me. I pushed off the bed and flew out of the room. The darkness and his cold touch followed me. I couldn't stop my tears or my helpless whimpering. I wanted out of the darkness, but they followed me down the hall. I knew if I stayed alone in the darkness any longer I was going to die. Suddenly, I heard one of the doors open and a candle glowed from somewhere in the hallway before my body collided with Lorenzo's. The candlelight held by someone from a distance cast his form in shadow. His presence, however, was like a light in the dark.

Balance of Light and Shadow

Balance of Light and Shadow

As I entered from the real world at dawn, and it is now night, I hope this corresponds to the real world and that we only have to survive the day before the moon rises. Serena's light seems to have stabilized. It's no longer flickering, but it is still very dim. At least it's there. Lewana is curled up in my lap and snuggled against my chest. I make sure she is as comfortable as possible as I hold her, determined to not only fight the shadows that threaten her but also keep them from giving her more nightmares. It doesn't feel like an entire night has passed when it starts to get light again, but I'm relieved when it does. I know I have to survive with our girls, but I know if the shadows ne

Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

Reese pulled again, almost dragged me away from the stairs and led me through the underground corridor. There were no windows down here, just an old ventilation system that stuttered and supplied the air with oxygen. The part was broken so often that the temperatures down here were mostly sauna-like, but at the moment I didn't feel anything. My hands felt numb. My whole body felt numb. Not even Reese's presence could change that at the moment. Why? Why did something like this have to happen now, of all times, when my life was finally going on in a semi-regulated manner? Why couldn't I just lock the past in some dark hole so it could never bother me again? I just didn't get it.

Into His Darkness

Into His Darkness

It was a dream. I was in the complete darkness, there was nothing but dark and then there was that voice peering through the darkness. making its way. Hope. Isn’t it a strange word. The dawn breaks out as I yawned and looked out the window in front of my room. Asher was still fast asleep; I could hear his heartbeat across the door. Asher was given the next room beside me.

Hello lovely people! sorry for leaving you all hanging in middle of nowhere. I seriously didn't get time in past month to update for which I am really sorry. I will try to complete the story in this book only. Please be patient with me as I am recently acquainted to college life.

I'm guessing that English isn't your first language. Maybe it would be best to hire an editor? Some of the grammar mistakes make for a confusing read. I have had to re-read quite a few lines and guess the meaning with context clues. I'm intrigued with the story so keep it coming!

Lost in Thy Arms

Lost in Thy Arms

Chapter 21 SHADOWS AND SECRETS Francis moved quietly toward the corner shelf, his silhouette barely visible in the storm-lit room. Maria watched, tense and uncertain, wondering what he was doing. A moment later, the sharp click of a lighter broke the silence, followed by the soft glow of flame. He lit one candle, then another, until five flickered across the lounge, placed at strategic points that pushed back the darkness in trembling circles of light. When he returned to the couch, Maria was trembling, her hands shaking as she whispered, “Let me out, please… I’ll behave. Just let me out. I can’t see anything.” Tears brimmed at her eyes, her voice cracking under the weight of fear.
