I thought you were dead,'' she says, looking me dead in the eyes with a soft smile forming on her face.
''Well, I am not,'' I say, getting my books into my bag.
''Hello. I am Anya Romano,'' she says, extending her hand. I looked her up and down and passed beside her to get to my next class.
''You know, it is rude to ignore people like that. It makes them feel bad,'' she says, struggling to close her bag. I stopped my movement and turned to her. She looked up at me and didn't move.
''And what makes you think I care how others feel,'' I say, continuing to look at her, still trying to close the bag.
