Lena's POV. “Hello, ma'am,” the doctor waved his left hand, and felt my pulse with his right hand. “How many fingers am I holding up?” “Can I get a name? Can you speak?” He continued, not even giving me a chance to think or respond. He suddenly stopped and pointed a little fluorescent light in my eyes. I squinted and groaned inaudibly from lying stiff for far too long. “Four, My name is Lena, and I think I can… talk,” I replied in a second, gulping as the man behind him moved closer and fixed his gaze on me.

” She asked. I looked at her and chuckled. Lillian was a widow in her late 40’s. She had gotten this job a few years after her husband’s demise and had faithfully worked with Lachlan long before I got to know me. So she told me. She was definitely more mature and experienced.

She simply didn't like how Lillian was throwing herself at Wilson after we lost our baby. Lillian shook but quickly masked her fear by tilting her chin up defiantly. “I… I was invited,” she stammered, her voice shaking just a little. Madam Eleanor let out a cold empty laugh, her gaze scrutinizing her head to toe in disgust as she demanded, “Invited? By who? Certainly not me, and clearly not Hilda. So tell me. Who the hell let you in here?” Lillian’s eyes darted to Wilson and then back to Eleanor, “I only came because I wanted to support Wilson,” she answered with feigned confidence. “He’s still my friend after all.”

On the plane, just before takeoff, Lillian pulled out her phone and deleted every trace of Elton. 'Goodbye, Elton,' she whispered silently. 'We're done for good.'

She reached for her hand mirror and called for Margarette. “How are you? Did you get the dusts?” “Margarette, we need to talk. I want the truth. I want the whole story of Lenriad. Also, I have to tell you another thing.” Ellaine opened the leaf and stared at the beautiful face of a sleeping angel with golden hair.

Chapter 43 A Liar. Sara Hewitt. "What happened next?" Glen's eyes shone in admiration as I told her the story of how I humbled Mrs. Lyla in her office. I shrugged and let out a huff of air, and with arrogance, I repeated my story. "You know... She was there, head bent over. Obviously crying..." I pointed out, glad that they were all listening attentively like loyal dogs. "Sage has finally shown her her place, and she was even trying to act all high and mighty around me." “You sent for me ma’am?” Lillian said as she walked into the study room, already having a bad feeling about the meeting and knowing of her great secret with her son, she couldn’t fight the nervous feeling she was having. She stood, fiddling the hem of her apron, her head bent as she studied her black leather sandals which looked old with mere looking at it. Her hair was covering her face, seeming to bury her in her own self.
