Lincoln Highway Novels & Stories

Joshua was curios. Then both Cally and Joana pointed at one and Joshua was surprised, asking “what kind of car is that?” Joshua didn’t have much knowledge about cars after all. “Its Lincoln,” said Cally and Joana. They were surprised, how was Joshua it possible that didn’t know Lincoln? That was one of the luxurious brands on the United states. They had been eyeing it since the previous night, a Lincoln Navigator SUV, which cost around one million dollar. Although it was five million dollars, Joana and Cally felt it was enough and they liked it very much.

Lincoln started the car once more and slowly began to drive. And as he anticipated, the car was still following him closely behind. Then all of a sudden, he picked up high speed, passing through cars, and roads, disobeying traffic lights, making incessant and unnecessary turns all so he could lose the motherfucking stalker, but no matter how hard he tried, the red car was still there, right behind him, as though there was an invincible thread trying his car to that of the stalkers.

The car was a 2021 Lincoln Continental. Black exterior, matte finish, V6 engine with too much idle hum for subtle work. Government types liked it. Wide seats. Quiet cabin. Not too flashy. Just enough room in the trunk for a body, if it came to that. I slid into the back seat, still in my sweaty white shirt half tucked in my dress pants from last night. I didn't get the chance to change into decent clothes, let alone sleep since the fighting show and Lorraine's small outburst.
