Lisa stated, "I want to travel, meet new people, and make a difference, no matter how tiny. I'd like to live." Beth flashed a grin. She encircled Lisa with her arms. "Go live," she advised. "Also, please tell Andrea that I miss her. She'd always been a patient friend. Also, inform her that the majority of my stories are lies, but I'm sure she already knows that." Lisa felt her entire universe evaporate for the third time in her life when she was blinded by a blinding light. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~~**~*~*~*~*~*

“What happened, Sammy? Dylan said you were out of the town but yesterday, I saw the news. I was shocked. I tried to visit you in the hospital, but police didn't let me pass.” I sucked an air and bit my lower lip. “H-He's evil, Rachel.” She stared at me with so much pity and pulled me for a hug. “Was it right? You were saved by Lucian and Jacob Lee? How did you know him?” I heaved a sigh before telling her everything. When I say everything, I didn't leave any information behind. I told her the whole story—from the beginning up to the end. I was crying the whole time. Rachel keeps on telling me to stop, but this is the only way I know to lessen the burden in my heart.

I guess the pressure got to her the most, and the more Rosie danced around, the angrier Susan got, yelling at her to keep still. Harper was slowly losing her heart. I think there was more bad stuff going on for her at home, including an argument about her mom moving out. April joined the team not because she wanted to. We begged her to join, but now there was too much pressure. Too serious in a way that it was no fun anymore. And me? Well, I felt as if I was watching a horror movie where the characters were doing something stupid, and I was powerless to stop them. ~*~

Nothing about it was fair any more. These past few years Jane had begun to accept the fact that she wasn't one of the Waleskis. And she had started writing a book called the Unfair Life of Jane, Plain, and Short. It wasn't a real book, just a list of experiences and even that made Jane wonder whether the universe had something in the particular against her. For example:

I hate carriages. These small spaces get the worst of me. But it was the proper way for a lady to travel so I must endure. Surrounded by walls, I couldn’t distract from my thoughts. I shouldn’t leave like that. I felt Vadas’s gaze following me, he either knew something or was suspecting. I sensed a change in his attitude. I guess I lost this one. And what now? I probably screwed up ‘Lylia’. This identity was one of the most complex. It took me 4 years to build a credible background for her. And Tamor. Gods. I can’t imagine what he will do.

I’m never like this, I don’t care about others then why her? When we arrived at the cemetery, I was stunned, I didn’t expect her to come to the cemetery. Was that the reason why she was whimpering? And with the way she looked at me today, the tears and pain I saw in her eyes made me wonder if that’s how it feels when you lose someone you love. I have never loved before so I don’t know how it feels. I canceled my plans and drove back to the cemetery, I can’t leave her alone at least not when she’s all sad. Isabel finally broke the silence, calling out to me, but I was already gone, leaving Isabel to face the consequences of her actions alone. In the end, Isabel was left with nothing but her thoughts, replaying the conversation and wondering how it had escalated so quickly. She knew she had to make things right, but she didn't know where to start. The phone, still clutched in her hand, seemed like a tangible reminder of her betrayal, a symbol of the trust that had been broken.

Lily’s POV The rest of the day went by in a blur of emails, meetings, and trying to ignore the lingering looks from employees who were still processing the fact that Lucas Hawke was married.
