She also seemed to read the synopsis and nodded her head felt content. “Not really just curious…” Ria answered briefly while glancing occasionally at Loren. “Err… Do you believe in ghosts?” she asked Loren after debating in her head whether to ask her friend or not. "Of course. In this world there are many mysteries that cannot be solved by science and such logical explanations. Including ghosts, spirits and other unidentified beings… They must be exist… somewhere…” Loren nodded while looking at the books that Ria had brought.

Clara pulled her journal into her lap and opened to a blank page, the familiar scent of leather and paper grounding her. She uncapped her pen and began to write, the ink gliding like tears: “The world continues, but I do not. I breathe because he once told me to. I move because he would have wanted me to. But I have not lived since the second his eyes closed. I am a ghost waiting for the living to return.”

The world around me seemed to be spinning, and I felt like I was drowning. And after this, I soon realized that I was in the land of Ghosts. That son of a bitch demon. They are not to be trusted ever. I cursed myself for being so foolish, for trusting a demon. I had heard stories of the land of Ghosts - a place where the dead lingered, and the living were trapped forever. I had never believed in such stories, but now I found myself living in one.

The possessive way he fucked me like he both hated and needed me. I forced a grin. “You’re crazy, man. You watch too many movies.” He stepped aside but whispered as I passed, “Run while you still can. He’ll ruin you.” Later that day, I overheard two employees gossiping near the cafeteria. “Did you hear about The Ghost? Some billionaire who shows up masked at underground parties. Pays good money, fucks like a demon, then vanishes. Nobody ever sees his face.” I laughed it off again. But deep inside of me, i was worried for myself.

She looked at my bruised face, then past me at the cramped living room. ​"So," she said, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation. "This is where the Ghost lives." ​"It isn't much," I said, closing the door and locking it. The sound of the bolt clicking felt different tonight. It felt like we were shutting the rest of the world out. ​"It’s real," Chloe said. She walked over to the kitchen table, running her fingers along the edge of my worn-out textbooks. "No mahogany desks. No hidden cameras. No Senators watching your every move."
