Long Way Down Will Novels & Stories

I just finished reading the last book when I started to write Descent for real! The title when this was still a draft was actually ‘Can’t Help Falling (In Love With You)’ because I was listening to the same song only the dark version at the time. But I got annoyed because I felt it was too freaking long to be a title. For a time, I settled calling the story "Fall from Grace" in my head but it still felt wrong... so when I searched for a synonym, the meaning of the word descent.. clicked; it feels like it perfectly sums up the entire plot.

She wasn’t watching the curves as she should’ve been, and by the time the second turn came, it was too late.

"You've always dreamed of stargazing in Omaraine, right? After the party, how about we go there, just the three of us?" The peaks of Omaraine's Green Mountain soared over 2000 meters high, a perfect canvas for the stars. It was Jessica's dream destination. However, that dream felt hollow then, especially after the email she received yesterday from Brittania. "Mrs. Sullivan, it's with deep regret that I must tell you, the observatory has confirmed your blue star is set to fall in three days." The love once believed to be unbreakable was then scarred and battered. Even the stars, once thought eternal, were on the brink of collapse.

He wanted to make up for all those days he wasted, for all those times he made her cry. The car stopped in front of a huge building located in one of the most expensive areas of the city. Eleven floors, glass windows all over, unique designing with a big brown LED board in the middle that highlighted the words ‘K.S Law Firm’. As much as he hated Raiden Kingston, Calvin found it fascinating how he had managed to do all of that in just a span of seven years. “That guy is really something.”

Ruby flung her phone across the room in a rage. Suddenly, Jack burst through the door, barely able to hide his excitement. "Honey, we've got a way out! Grand Globe Group, the company we've been trying to reach, just sent me a message. They're interested in our project and want to talk about a follow-on investment. With that money, we can hire a top-tier team out of Digital Valley. Once that happens, those old men won't have anything left to say, and the project can keep moving!" -

… On the day I finally boarded my flight, everyone understood what I meant. Many people came to see me off. Samantha was there too. She held my hand and cried as if she could not bear to let go. She asked, "Caleb, are you really only going overseas for three years? What if you leave and never come back?" I looked at her gently, keeping my voice soft and slow. "If you truly love me, can't you wait just three years? If you can't wait, then maybe we should just—"

Even as the crowd slowly began to drift away, Alan, Hank, and Dexter never came back. When I reached out through the mind-link again, Alan finally answered. I'd hoped for something soft, something comforting. Instead, his words came sharp and angry. "The ceremony isn't that big of a deal, Amy! Can't you tell Eden's barely holding it together? She's at her most fragile. She needs us!"

"I let you down. I let pride get the better of me, and I got tempted. I thought you'd never leave. I thought even if I messed up, you'd forgive me. "But Jenna, six years isn't nothing. Just give me one last chance. I ended things with Vera. She's gone from Riverton. Let's forget all of it. We loved each other..." His eyes reddened as he spoke, his voice trembling with sobs. I suddenly remembered the fireworks he set off across the city when he proposed to me. Every woman in the city envied me, saying I'd found the perfect man. The crowd erupted in cheers as he dropped to one knee and swore his heart only belonged to me, that no one else would ever be his bride.

To my surprise, he responded with, "I took care of that, after dinner we will go to the mechanic's shop and get it, it is not much but it runs" I knew it would be nothing special, and it wasn't, old beat-up pickup, it will serve its purpose. After getting some homework done I went downstairs to get something to eat, I heard commotion looking out the window I saw Lilly, Sophie, and her brother playing in the yard. It was kinda cute to see. Two weeks have passed and my life was falling into the routine - school, home, gym, homework, sleep, and all over again, this is what poor life feels like. Tomorrow is Monday again and I have no idea for how long I can take this kind of life.

Khailah P.O.V The filthy and packed semi-truck that we were in finally came to a stop. At least 100 or so females are inside here with me. Some of the ladies were crying, yelling for help, praying, or mumbling incoherently. Some of the more recent kidnapped companions are banging on the walls. While yelling to be freed! I’m actually not sure how many of us are stashed in the back of here. There are no lights inside here and my cellphone battery finally died two days ago. We’ve been in this truck for almost a week now, I believe. The only times that they’ve stopped were to add more females. When my phone still had some power, I turned it on to airplane mode to preserve the battery. And used t
