The farther we moved, the more distant the gunfire became. But the fear never faded. Not even slightly. Ava walked close beside me. “This feels insane.” I let out a weak breath. “I miss when my biggest problem was divorce papers.” A tired laugh escaped her despite everything. “Honestly? Same.” Even Damian looked faintly amused for half a second before the expression disappeared again. We reached a reinforced steel hallway moments later. Lucien stopped near a hidden security panel and entered a code quickly. A heavy door unlocked with a loud metallic sound.

This was the only time when something like that can happen. Once he mates with her, he doesn't have a choice. He had to make sure he made her his Luna, and that was the plan. Hazel POV The safe house had slowly begun to feel less like a cage and more like a quiet haven. Days passed in a gentle rhythm that was both comforting and strange. Mom spent hours tending the garden, her hands in the soil bringing color back to her cheeks. Lucas had claimed the small gym room, pushing himself to regain his strength. He laughed more often now, teasing Maria about her cooking and challenging Asher to light games of chess when he visited. And Asher… Asher had started courting me properly.

[Third POV] It was as if the world around the main hall suddenly stopped. Louisa and Nico stepped closer to each other without breaking their gazes. When they are mere inches apart, “MATE,” they once muttered at the same time. Nico extended his hand to Louisa, palms facing up, and she placed hers into his hand in response. Without a word, they swiftly walked out of the room and found a quiet corner in the lobby of the packhouse.

Louisa muttered. Louisa then took a deep breath. Now her appetite has disappeared. No longer feeling hungry with the pieces of pancake that were still left on the plate earlier. Louisa continued her steps to turn off the main light and went up to her room. Ready to sleep. But Louisa's steps again stopped right in front of Henry's room there. Then slowly, Louisa opened the door to Henry's room and went inside. When Louisa entered Henry's room, the first thing she did was take a deep breath.

"We'll discuss this later. Wait for me in our bedroom." I grin at him. "Yes, sir!" He slaps my ass as I pass by and my heart sings. When Luis is happy, I am happy. Chapter Eight “Would you like me to make you something to eat?” Lucas slips his arms around me and pulls me to his chest.
