“Don’t stop, bitch! I press the horn to make her keep walking. The caddie did look tired and was staggering, but that wasn't my fault. It was her fault for betraying me. So she deserved her punishment. And coincidentally, her betrayal was exposed today. The day of the first moon of the month, which meant it was the day Wild Hurricane would hunt. We call this hunting activity The Lunar Hunt. And we call our prey The Fallen. With all of our members being werewolves, we Wild Hurricanes are certainly very happy to hunt. But hunting here does not mean turning into wolves and preying on animals in the forest, but hunting on the streets. The prey is the traitor who betrayed me or destroyed my trust

He couldn't even stand. Just when it looked like the ragdoll was going to beat him to death, it suddenly stopped and grabbed my hand. Then it used my fingers to lift the knife he had dropped and plunged it straight into his heart. The familiar system chime echoed. [Player Franklin Hanson has been eliminated.] My balance shot up by several hundred coins. My eyes sparkled. "Bunny, you're amazing! You even let me have the kill." The chat exploded. [Weren't these two supposed to be weak monsters? I left for a minute, and now they're so strong!]

"The Sacred Hunt. An enchanted stag has been released into the Deep Woods. You must track it, capture it, and bring it back alive. Unharmed. You have until sunset." "What makes it enchanted?" I asked. "It can sense predators. Moves faster than natural deer. Leaves false trails. Some say it can become invisible." He smiled coldly. "Three previous Lunas failed this trial. Two gave up. One was killed by natural predators while chasing the stag into dangerous territory." "Encouraging." I looked at the forest. Dark. Deep. Full of things that could kill me. "You may begin." Marcus stepped back. I took a breath and ran into the woods.

A flash of movement. A glint of glass and metal catching the weak floodlight. Hunters. My blood goes cold. They’re up there. Hidden in the skeleton of the stadium roof, rifles braced against the steel. I know that smell; burning silver, UV rounds. Death designed for wolves. “Hunters!” I scream, but my voice is swallowed by the chaos below. A crack splits the air, deafening. The first bullet slams into a Voss wolf mid-shift, and he goes down screaming, skin blistering where the round burns. Another shot follows, clipping a Draven’s shoulder, smoke rising from the wound.

“I can’t wait.” A horn sounded, the sound so loud it echoed off the mountains. The hunt had begun. Damon and I moved quickly into the forest together, fallen leaves and pine needles crunching beneath our feet. The morning sun barely penetrated the thick canopy, casting everything in a greenish twilight. Other hunters crashed through the underbrush around us, their eagerness making them careless. I heard a howl as one person lost control and shifted, and then a shout: “Disqualified! Return to the main grounds!”

“Earis will destroy the world after the death of a dragon and a newborn! The hunters will bring Carnage unlike any we've ever seen before and your perfect Luna will lead us to our deaths!” A loud static ringing buzzed inside my head. HXP protocol from the hunters, checked. Dragon, checked. Soon to be newborn, checked! WE'RE DOOMED!

He looked around to make sure the coast was clear and instead of going to the packhouse where the shelter was, or even the gym in the school where another shelter was, he took me towards the forest. I could hear where the fighting was happening and we were running in the opposite direction. We ran for about 10 minutes before we came to another hang out that we didn’t want our parents to know about. They were underground bunkers and we went inside but I was commanded to stay inside since there weren’t any doors on the bunkers. Ryan lit a gas lantern to give us a little light and all the crap from our last party was still here. Empty alcohol bottles, condom wrappers and a lot of other stuff th

"Let's get those damn trackers out of us." We waited an extra day, just in case more came. The mountain remained eerily quiet, the snow undisturbed except for the tracks we had left behind. By the time the sun began to dip behind the trees, casting long shadows across the frozen ground, we were packing up and heading down. The whole thing felt wrong. Orin. Jade. Werewolf hunters turning into what they hunted? All of it felt off. What was the point of it all? The truck came into view, buried under a layer of snow, and I couldn’t have been happier to see it.

“If that’s the case, I’ll have to refuse.” “Actually, he’s hunting me.” Hazel shot me a dark stare. She didn’t realize the difference between a mate hunt and a mate chase, I didn’t think. A man chased a girl he wanted, but hunted his True Mate. I prodded her thigh with my knee just so her scent would increase for me. The citrus-leather scent went through the roof, and it became a struggle to focus. I really needed her to let me mark her so I could focus again on something other than her smell.

Hunt not knowing that was his later time of seeing the old man. Mr. Hunt brought out a silencer from beneath his reading table. He pulled the trigger.
