My heart pumps too fast, my lungs shrinking and refusing to supply me with air. My entire body trembling with my vision doubling, and my strength is leaving me.
“Breathe, Cara.” A couple of muscular arms wrapped around my shoulders. Damon’s soothing voice rang so distantly as though he wasn’t hovering above me. His warped image was dancing in front of my eyes, and although I could see his mouth moving, I couldn’t hear a word he was saying aside from the beating of my own heart.
