I wince and move it a few inches away before bringing it back to my ear. "Troy are you there?" She calls again and I nod like she can see me. "Yes Rachel,I'm here." I say and resume walking out of the school. My foot slightly nudges a small book on the floor and I carefully study it before bending to pick it up. The word 'Diary' is printed in a bright, colourful pink on the book and I groan. It must have fallen out of the mysterous girl's open school bag.

But I can’t. The fact that she not only tolerates my presence, but has never shown me anything but kindness despite the things I’ve said just makes me feel even more protective of her. And now I can say she's right, because I don't think I need the world to tell me that Zade loves me, the way I love him too. The signs are there, right before me.

As in, like, romance?” A silence covered the room.
