No one warns you that when you fall, you don’t land—you crash. You hit the ground so fucking hard it shatters you from the inside out. And you don’t even realize it at first, because there she is, looking at you like you’re everything, whispering shit that makes your head spin, pressing her lips to your skin like she owns you.

"What else can I do? I love you and I will always, always choose you over my anger, over my pride, over anything else." My heart melted at his words. Can I even fall deeper for this man? I think I'm falling for him deeper and deeper each day, I don't think I have a chance to rise on my own. It's a good damn fall. Probably miles from the ground. I can't make my way up, can I? Because I don't think I can. Not now. Not ever. "I love you too," I whispered on his chest.

In the front window, the Christmas tree they’d decorated together shone in a fiery blaze of color, and behind her, she knew, there were fairy lights shining at the edge of the woods. Sparkle looked up at him, then moved in closer. He didn’t move, just locked his gaze with hers as she approached. When she was close enough, Sparkle cupped his cheeks in her palms. “I love you so much and that’s a fact I can’t change or cancel from my heart, even if you asked me to do it,” she said softly. “You’re in my blood, in my soul… That too, I can’t change. You are the best thing that happened to me. And believe it or not, I am the best thing that happened to you lately.”

Suddenly she felt her wrist being pulled from behind, his lips then crashed into hers, knocking the air out of her lungs, their lips passionately sought the taste of one another, cupping his hand on the back of her neck, he pulled her closer, she clutched his shirt as she clung to him; love, need, despair, desperation, all tender emotions were poured into their last kiss. Breaking the kiss, he gazed into her eyes and whispered, "I love you," before she could reply she felt herself being pulled inside the portal, the image of her beloved disappeared as the portal closed in front of her eyes and she found herself slipping into the darkness.
