"He's quite skilled at finding ways," Lucas said, and Luna shrugged dismissively, observing his childish behavior. For some reason, Luna felt happy for the first time when Lucas acted childish.

As they then join the warriors that are standing out the front of the pack house, Delta Lucas walks up to his mate and places his hand on her cheek. He wipes the tears that escape her eyes and slide down her cheeks. He pulls her close and whispers into her ear, making her give him a sad smile as he pulls back, leaning his forehead to hers. Lucas then places a soft and loving kiss on her lips before stepping completely back. He then bends down just in time to catch the little female bundle that comes running out of the packhouse yelling, "DADDY. DADDY. DADDY..."
