He grumbled a little before muttering incoherent words beneath his breath, but I caught most of it. "...always frolicking... is that what all women without wolves do..." My body went rigid. The words had pierced right straight through me. I looked down at the man who had said it but couldn't make out his face in the darkness. Pulling away from beneath the shelter, I began to walk off. My feet dragged against the ground as tears welled up in my eyes. He is right. Why did Alaric even choose me? Why did he make me his Luna when I was this useless?

"Where have you been?" Sweet is my best friend and she is also the secretary of Lucifer himself, and she refuses to tell us how he looks until he reveals himself to us. All we know is that he is not an old man, that is overweight and has a lot of cats. Nope, he was fairly young, in the late twenties and Sweet confirmed he turned twenty-seven this year but no one knew when. Sweet gave us bits of information but most of the time she was selfish. "Relax, Sweety. He isn't here yet." I said calmly and continued what I was busy with.

"Are you fucking crazy, what did you think... that it wants to be friends with you... It was not a fucking puppy from whom you were expecting a handshake stupid girl, you were supposed to run..." Jerking her Lucifer yelled at her, serenity's eyes filled with tears listening to his harsh words. He was right but too harsh for her. Lucifer sighed looking at her silent crying face. He mind linked his brothers and they reached there within seconds. "What happened kitten why are you crying..." Nicolai frowned. Serenity didn't thought twice before throwing her arms around Nicolai and crying on his chest. A warm feeling erupted in his body as he quickly wrapped his large arms around her small body.

Lost in the depth of turmoil she pointed her finger at him in contempt and continued with a hoarse voice. "All of them died the day you let me go..." She sniffed, trying not to cry and continued. "That desire to live, the connection of hearts, that light... you took all of it." A tear fell on her cheek and she moved back. Exhaling to not cry. "You emptied me, let me go..." She whispered. Lucifer was on the verge of breaking into loud sobs a tear shone like crystal in the corner of his eye, "By which right, I could stop you? Who were- no who are you to me that I show right over you?" He asked, breathless, anguished, broken.

I stood up and tried taking his hand, but he snapped it away from me. "What...." "Go back. Don't look at me," he pleaded, his eyes still glowing dangerously. Tears flowed in a high current. This was my fate now. If I left him be, what would I gain? I stepped closer to him again, "Look at me, Lucifer. This is not you." His eyes became teary. For the first time, I witnessed him cry, and it creeped me out to the core. Lucifer could cry like this? "Yes," he said, "This is not your mate. This Lucifer is different from the one who deserves you. Go away. I'll call Lucian to come pick you up."

Lucifer gently shook her. “Are you okay, Luci?” she coughed. “Are you hurt?” her eyes closed only for Lucifer to shake her gently. “I won’t be if you don’t stay awake!” His tears turned to sobs. The pain in his chest growing so great, he thought he would die. He would die, he would die without her if he left her here alone. He would go on a rampage, begging the gods to take his life, to have him leave this world, to meet his mate amongst the stars.
