Lucien's POV Seeing the pure joy on Lila's face when she told me about her mother's scans was something I knew I'd never forget. For the first time since she'd signed our contract, the guarded look in her eyes had completely vanished, replaced by something radiant that tightened my chest in a way that had nothing to do with corporate metrics or legal agreements. She was still gripping my shirt, breathing fast, and looking down at her, I felt a fierce urge to keep that smile on her face for as long as I possibly could.

Elijah, annoyed by her worry, immediately asked Lucia. "I-I... I just..." Lucia, who came to her senses and gasped a little at the sound of Elijah's loud voice, immediately raised her head to look right at Elijah who was staring at her with annoyance mixed with worry right there and now. Lucia even blinked her eyelids in a very fast motion. Lucia found it quite difficult to tell Elijah what she was currently feeling. So Lucia had to sigh several times right there and now. "I just.. It felt like multiple stabs in my heart for a second, but every voice in my head reminds me I could have lost Lucy. She stuttered, taking a step backwards, and I moved close to her till our faces were only inches apart. “Is this about that night? Are you trying to punish me because we slept together? If that’s the case, then it's a shame because I was under the expression that you enjoyed it very much. So did I.” Lucia’s cheeks slowly turned beet red, and I nearly swooned, wishing I could capture this moment forever. “You’re ridiculous, Jeremy!” She exclaimed, looking affronted as her cheeks grew even redder. “Get out.” “But, Professor—” “Go. Now!”

Lucy had already settled in and was given a large room to stay . She picked up the dresses Mrs July shopped for her and nicely arranged them in the closet . She then took out her laptop and plugged to call Melty. "Look who it is. Miss ignore. I have been trying to reach you for a while now but it just doesn't go through. Why?". Metly angrily said to Lucy. She had missed her best friend and now she was getting worried that Lucy was holding back in completing the mission. She paused as she saw Lucy straight face.

“You mean—Zaphyr?” Lucy nodded slowly. “He’s grown soft and sentimental. I’ve been patient for months, Crystal. But this? This is our moment. If we kill Zaphyr, I take control of White Snow. You get your full army, I make the Shadow Blood alliance permanent, and we march to crush the Star Raiders and Elena together.” The silence in the room stretched, thick and dangerous. I sat down slowly, heart pounding. “You’d kill your mate?” Lucy didn’t flinch. “He was never truly mine. Just a means to an end.”

I didn’t pay any heed to Zeth’s vexation who was growling nonstop and showed him the mirror of reality, “You still think that Shyla is in heat? I tended to her wounds, deliberately touched her bare skin and was just inches away from her. And instead of reciprocating my advances, she threatened to kick me in my nuts. Is she crazy? Or you mistook her as our Erasthai, Zeth?” My simple query activated my lycan’s monster mode, he forgot our brotherhood and snarled at me. “I am one hundred percent sure that Shyla is our Erasthai. Didn’t you notice that she is immune to your royal command at the dinner that night? Only a true Queen has the power to deny his fated King’s command, thankless human.” “

I growled at the lycan, but that didn’t stop him from reaching out and scratching behind my ears. His dramatic personality switch was off putting, to say the least. I bristled, my mind screaming at me to get away, but my body refusing to move. Isaac’s eyes twinkled with an emotion I didn’t recognize, but it was one I felt I was not powerful enough to combat. No one would be. “Princess,” he laughed lightly. “I knew it. You’re so… cute.” I growled again, this time following it with a snap at his hand.

The pink dress looked beautiful on her, and once Lucy got home and did her hair, they were going to hit the creek later that afternoon to soak up some sun. “Leave her alone,” Lucy said, coming to stand beside Bianca. Guy held his hands up. “You’re not going to shoot me with your laser beams, are you?” Rubbing her temples, Lucy looked between Bianca and Guy, and she frowned. There was a kind of aura between the two. She couldn’t describe it, but something bound Bianca and Guy together. “You’re mates!” She slapped her hand over her mouth, eyes wide. Bianca shook her head. “No.”

Lucy shakes her head, walking to Hyera. “My dear,” she says softly, taking Hyera’s bloody hands in hers. “The bond is too strong. It won’t break easily.” “There must be a way!” Hyera cries, tears streaming down her face. “There must be a way… I can’t be tied to these monsters!” “The only way is if one of them dies,” Lucy says, and their hearts sink, eyes widening in horror. They know Hyera would kill one of them just to rid herself of the rest.
