Luis murmured to himself. Luis was supposed to be resting in his hospital bed. Local authorities rushed him to the hospital two days ago after his car crashed into the bar while he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Luis, like Lydia, had a rough and traumatic life, battling for his father's favor. He tried too hard to live up to his father's expectations as the only child, but he kept disappointing him because he always lost to his cousin and rival, Edward.

His knuckles were already red from hitting the punching bag earlier, but his rage hadn't settled. Luis stepped into the room, his boots echoing on the concrete. He didn’t say anything at first—just watched Ozzy with cold, unreadable eyes. Ozzy finally stopped pacing and faced him, jaw tight. Luis walked in slow, deliberate steps until they were face to face. “You’re gonna quit whatever you think you’re doing,” he said, voice low and deadly calm. “Forget there’s even a girl named Raven in this world.” Ozzy didn’t answer.

He wanted for them to see it clearly, but it was such a mess. In his fear that the Council would suspect him, he arranged the night for scheming another mind trick of his. He went over to Rachel in the pretense of asking her a piece of advice, and while they were huddled together in the dining area, Luis input a memory inside Rachel’s psyche plane, making her think that she was the one who invented the Lux. He even went so far as to make her use it there; as a result, half of the Masaque Empire has collapsed.

Luis blurted out softly heaving lightly. “Damn, I want you badly Yaze!” Luis can not get over the dream. The dream was vivid in his mind and still felt his core hard. He became obsessed, taking secretly pictures of Yaze on his phone and instant camera. He prepared an album to put all Yaze’s pictures. Some pictures were sexy showing her perfect figure, legs when he bent and when he sat.

Dad reluctantly releases me, pulls out his phone, and calls Mom. Luis moves in front of Onyx. “Hi, I am Luis, don’t listen to anything she has to say about me. Panic tore through our troops. Then Luis screamed. My head whipped around. He’d collapsed, clutching his chest, glowing symbols blooming along his skin like firebrands. “No—no, no, no—” I ran to him, falling to my knees. “Luis, baby, stay with me!” But it wasn’t pain. It was awakening. His eyes blazed blue as a shield of light burst outward from his small hands, blocking Dexter’s magic in midair. The flames collided, hissed, cracked.
