Blinking, I see that her hair isn't black but brown and her eyes hazel, not Sly’s bright blue. “Mama,” the little one tugs on her mother’s sleeve. “Who’s the pretty lady?” “Shh,” the she-wolf pulls her pup up onto her waist. “It isn’t polite to stare. You'd want to touch it but you'd be scared you'd destroy it so you'd stare from a distance. She looked like some kind of Fae. Sreya personally believed she was a mermaid with legs. One look at her and you'd believe in supernatural beings.

My eyes were enormous circles with jagged lines coming out—lightning, maybe. Underneath, in Rowan’s careful, wobbly handwriting: THE KERSED LUNA. Panel four was just me again, this time with a wolf tail and a baby in my arms, the angry moon now… smiling? Or having a stroke. It's hard to say.
