My first evening in Canyon Ridge pack has been a bit overwhelming. I found out that I’m mated to Cohen, realized that basically everyone but me already knew that, was asked to be Cohen’s acting Luna until I can take on the role permanently when I turn 18, and then found out that Emlyn is planning to return to Shadow Falls with Rich. That means I only have a couple of days to learn everything I need to learn about being a Luna before Emlyn leaves. I’ve been in this pack many times over the years, but I’ve never learned all of the pack members’ names. They all know my name, of course, and they’ve started calling me Luna, which is also a bit overwhelming.

I called Vikky, then asked her if she saw her Luna, but she denied, and I kept up with the act by calling Emily and she declines to meet Luna as well. A good-looking man arrived and sat next to Meg, they sniffed each other and exchanged kisses, which made it obvious that he was her mate. "This is my mate, Paul," Meg beamed. Paul smiled at me, then shifted his gaze back to Meg. We were soon joined by Rain, her mate Damon and finally Zaiden. "Hey," he said and slid next to me. "Hey," I smiled back at him. "I don't see madam Luna, where is she?" I asked, innocently. Rain snorted, and Meg gave a smug smile. "Alpha and Luna are preoccupied, when our men return from such raids and killing the rogues they expect a reward. You know what I mean, right?" Rain asked me, wiggling her eyebrows.

I don’t respond, instead I watch her and continue to steady my breathing. “Victoria Evans has challenged young Luna Elenor Miner for the role of future Luna.
