My eyes widened and I stumbled back as my heart fell into my stomach. Kaiden on the other hand moved closer and tried to inspect. Then out of nowhere, the king’s eyes flew open. His blue eyes were piercing and filled with life.

It was so fast that it only took a couple of seconds before it hit Xurden. Xurden shouted in pain as the blinding light burned his skin. Nothing was happening on his flesh, but the pain was so vivid and clear. He felt the power being drained from his body, making his bones weak. He glanced above and stared at the king. The higher god shot him a look, commanding the light to hurt him more. “You’re really insolent,” the king roared. “Be happy that I spared your life by turning you into a human. It’s up to you if you want to die.” He waved his hand, adding power to the blinding light.

Luxio said still with his head down, "I will provide a special place later." "Heem." There was no reply, only the sound of the Lycan King's distinctive deafening voice. This made Luxio immediately excuse himself. While Abigail from the arrival until the man's departure did not utter a single word. She just stared at Luxio alone. I watch as King Archer and Queen Reika get out first followed by Kai and a moment behind everyone else is Lux. The King and Queen come and hug me as they thank me for allowing them to visit and then they move over to Zane and Lilly who appeared at some point while I looked at the car. Kai walks over to me and hugs me patting my back and asks, “How are you doing, man?” I respond, “Good and you?” He nods, and we both look at Lux who hasn’t moved yet.

I don’t care how you do it, just bring them breathing. I pick up my glass, swirling it in my hand. The ice clinks. Slow. Controlled.
