Then his gaze swept over the hall, settling on the thought of RuthValis. "They don't know yet how badly they would perish," he said, shrugging with mock indifference. "There must be sacrifices for the future. My nature was made for Elowyn... and Elowyn for it. No mere wolves will take what belongs to me by nature. I am a fiery lycan for nothing but to rule the world."

Derek, on the other hand, didn't say a word to him. A lot ran through Corey's head. As long as he knew, a person can be a Lycan only by birth. If Derek was a Lycan, What about Scott? He wasn't too certain as he finally decided to break the silence. “I really don't know what to say…. Seeing you here in this condition, I… I'm just…” Corey's words were lost. He couldn't finish his statement and thanks to Derek who interrupted him. “I understand… I have accepted my fate. Whatever life gives me, I'll gladly accept. It's not my fault that I am what I am.” Said Derek as he forced out a smile while his eyes went weak and turned wet.

Lycans were a myth. “I’m serious, Zaliver,” I said with my lips pursing at him. “So am I.” I shook my head at him not believing him. “Think about it. A species similar to werewolves but are way too different from them—stronger, faster, and better than wolves. I command all wolves. Come on, Vivian,” he said.

Before they could react— A deafening, earth-shaking roar tore through the valley. The ground cracked and fissured. Purple flames spiraled upward. A creature climbed out of the smoke—twisted, massive, with horns made of bone and eyes that burned like dying suns. Aiden’s fur stood on end. "What… in the moon goddess’s name… is that?" Delilah whispered, "A Lycan-Born. A hybrid summoned through forbidden magic." Caleb’s wolf whimpered softly. Aiden snapped at him. "Don’t back down. We fight."

“You will regret this, Annatoria” Resisting the desire to roll my eyes because her roundabout talk was too vague, I said, “If you expect me to take you seriously, then tell me what you know about the Lycan. What is he hiding?” “I…” Lyra lowered her head and pulled her hands into fists. “I can’t. He has ears all over. He might be listening right now.” The downcast in her voice made me think about the rumour Kaelen talked about. It was starting to seem very possible that I would be a sacrifice at the end of the day.

“Is the prophecy awakening in her?” The Seer’s head tilted "The Daughter of the Moon rises. Her flame stirs at last. Destiny awakens. She will change the fate of wolves and Lycans... for good or ruin" Sarah gasped, clutching Edwin’s sleeve. “But she’s only a child... our child...” “She is more than you understand. Chosen long before her birth. Her awakening cannot be stopped now and the adversary... waits to claim her soul" Crystal trembled behind the brush, her heart thudding violently.

Ryan asked, trying to keep up a defiant face but I could see that he was going weak. Interesting!!! "Hmmm, why do you have so many prisoners?." The man questioned again, staring at the vastness of the dungeon. "You haven't answered my god damned question!!." Ryan scowled and the man looked at him for a few seconds before heaving a sigh. " That should tell you that they are nonsensical and irrelevant questions that aren't worthy of an answer but nonetheless if you want to know... I'll tell you. I'm Lycan King Kye Blackwood, leader of the lycanthropy. " He said and a gasp escaped Ryan's lips while I just giggled in ecstasy.

Then placed sleeping Luciano beside his mother. I looked up at the entity, “take care of them— until I return.” Except I didn’t know if I would return. The entity gave a reassuring nod. And then—I stepped into the water. The Moonwell rose fast. Silver, cold, and alive. Czer exploded through my bones, not in a shift — but in a tearing awakening. Something ancient in my blood cracked open. Anguish shot through me, one that I had forgotten centuries ago. And the last thing I heard as the Moonwell swallowed me whole was the entity’s whisper: “Find her, Lycan King. Before destiny claims what is yours...”

With the future of the entire Lycan world resting on his shoulders, his darkest days are yet to come. Some bonds transcend duty. Some fate cannot be denied.
