The ride home from the arcade was quiet but warm, the playful glow of neon and laughter still buzzing in Milo’s chest. Ethan drove with one hand on the wheel, the other draped casually across the console, close enough that Milo could feel the heat of it.
“So,” Ethan said at a red light, glancing over. “How was your first date?”
Milo smirked, leaning back in his seat. “Not bad. Food was terrible. Company was alright, I guess.”
Ethan’s mouth twitched, and before Milo could blink, Ethan leaned across and kissed him, slow and grounding. “I love you,” he murmured against Milo’s lips.
