“But it makes no sense,” said Ilyria.
Thassa shook his head, “Not yet,” he said, his lips tight, “Not yet.”
“’There will be freedom’,” said Ilyria. “But whose?”
There was no more time to worry about the script and its meaning. The mad procession had come to them. Peta glanced once, with desperate love and longing at Miasma, then his terror won out and he turned and ran. It was all Ilyria could do not to follow.
