They cut him off from his wolf, from me, from our bond, with whatever had been on that dagger.
“I said fight me!” Lukas exclaimed, and I inhaled, my breath shaking.
“If you wish,” Tobias smiled, and then shifted right into his wolf.
Hot tears ran down my face as I watched Tobias pounce, as I watched Lukas stumble backwards and fall to the ground, where he lay helpless and prone under Tobias’s large, brown, almost rabid wolf.
“No,” I whispered, my heart shattering into a million pieces as the end of our story unfolded in front of me. Time was irrelevant, slowing to almost a full stop as I sobbed out my fear and my pain.
