" I almost had a heart attack. Madeline had become increasingly spoiled recently. For someone who grew up as an orphan after losing both parents, her behavior now resembled that of a pampered heiress. When I first met Madeline five years ago, she was a timid girl who didn't even dare to look people in the eye. Raised in a rural village, she was 13 but looked like skin and bones. Not to mention, she was unkempt and completely filthy. I felt genuine compassion for Howard and Madeline when I learned that they had lost their parents and could only rely on each other. Howard told me that as Madeline's older sister-in-law, I would be like a mother to her after we got married.

AUTHOR'S POV. MAGDALENE’S MANSION In the beautiful mansion of Magdalene, a beautiful lady of about twenty five years, came down from the stairs. Her fair skin radiated her beauty and her slender legs, made her look more like a model. “ Are you heading somewhere, Adeline?” Magdalene asked, dragging her gaze from the newspaper in her hand to her daughter. “ I just want to stroll out. Am I not permitted?” Adeline pouted.

But now I could see the torment in his eyes. He ran a hand through his curls and sat down slowly, motioning for me to do the same. There was a small fire burning in a metal bowl on the table. Beside it, a leather-bound journal sat, its pages partially torn. “I didn’t know who else to call,” he began. “You’re the only person I trust now.” I didn’t speak. I only nodded, urging him to speak on. By now, I was restless, the air around us was tensed.

One thing amazing about this room was; that it was quiet and peaceful. “You said this for the millionth time. And it's Miss Madeline not Maddie.” She argued with a fake hint of anger on her face. “Yeah yeah Miss Waters, whatever.” I chuckled and fluttered my eyes close. Madeline Waters was a doctor, who was practicing her house-job for part time. She was my mothers closest friend and one of my best acquaintances or friend, you could say. She was the sweetest out of all the people I knew and basically she knew what I had gone through, that to only a bit of it.

Seeing people whispering among themselves, Maddie knitted her brows and asked, "Is there something wrong with my answer?" Dr. Jones slightly frowned, his gaze turning colder. "Dr. Cynthia, do you truly think Dr. Bardot's answer is absurd?" "Yes," Maddie affirmed, determined to deny Maisie's statements. After all, she was the renowned Cynthia, and her words naturally held more credibility than Maisie's. "Since you think it's absurd, why did you write it this on the second page of the paper?" Dr. Jones sternly questioned. "What?" Maddie's face stiffened. She became flustered, her eyes filled with confusion.

' 'It's disgusting! "Mr. Flint." Madeline sat on the confession chair and straightened her back slightly. Then she took a deep breath and looked at Julien through the glass. He was handsome, rich and powerful. He was so perfect as if he was shining all over. She was obsessed with him gradually. "Mr. Flint, I call you to come here today because I want you to get me out of here. With your ability, I know that it's easy for you." Julien arched his eyebrows. "What did you say? You said that you wanted me to get you out of here?"

He complained. He flipped to the last page of the magazine, which after he had gone through, he tossed it fiercely on the floor. He puffed the tobacco, inhaling deeply, then exhaled, coughing lightly. "Dash isn't giving me what I want. Deep down, I wish to be in his shoes again, young, energetic and able to do just anything." He puffed again, then allowed the stick hang on his fingers for a little while. A few moments later, Madeline knocked and walked into the office swinging her waist mildly. She was quite slender, tall, beautiful and attractive. She was quite smart and ruthlessly dangerous at the same time, one of the reasons the retired billionaire found her useful to him.

And they were trying to drag his sister into their sordid lives. “Infamous is more like it,” he bit out. “I’ll ruin him for this.” “I don’t blame you, Gage, I don’t, but before you engage in serious ruination, we need to figure out how we’re going to handle the media firestorm Madeline is about to get hit by.” Lily had met Maddy on a few occasions.
