She moved again, but I was faster, grabbing her wrist as I dug my claws into her arm. She cried out and tried vanishing again, but I slammed her head against the altar.
“Fight, stop playing tricks,” I hissed.
She screamed, muttering a few incantations, a surge of energy burst through, the same thrumming energy I had felt in the house, but this time stronger.
Rather than weaken me, I felt my wolf howl, the magic flowing through my body, “Your magic has no power against a blood mage,” I growled, slamming my fist against her face.
