We were seated at the dining booth and there were occupied tables so they were distracting and totally covering us, especially Khloe. "Hi, strange to see you here," Maggie initiated a conversation. "Y-Yeah," I responded, forcing a smile. "Strange." "Do you have company?" she asked, glancing at the glass of refresher Khloe forgot to take under the table with her. Stupid! I grabbed the glass and sipped from the straw. "No, I'm alone." She gave me a skeptical gaze with her dark eyes but eventually brushed it off because technically, she had to mind her own business.

He poured for each of them and returned to the table handing a glass to Maggie. "It's 2:30 in the afternoon," she protested. Michael shrugged. "Here's to Mary Margaret Flynn being back on the 50th floor." She tapped her glass to his and they both sipped. "So what's on your mind, Mags?" She put down her glass. "You can't seriously believe that I can work any kind of deal on this case. I mean, even if I wanted to, which I don't, a girl is dead."

My face twisted into a frown, as I shot a smug look back at her, "Well, how am I supposed to do that?" "You know what, I've got the perfect drink to get you all pumped up." Maggie says walking into the crowd of people in the club headed off to god-knows-where. As the constant buzzing and chering went on, I couldn't help getting my eyes off him, something about him attracted me, something I couldn't quite place my finger on. "You still got your eyes on that guy?" I heard a voice call and I turned back at the view of Maggie, but this time, with a glass of whiskey. "Have some," She said passing the cup to me as I questioned, "What's in here."

Then there was Maggie—an hour and a half late with her gift wrapped up in a Target sack. "Oh! You must be Myalin," Maggie said excitedly as she entered the kitchen where the rest of us were gathered and talking about our love lives. Maggie rushed over and shook Myalin's hand aggressively, a sweet but overzealous smile plastered on her face. "It's so nice to finally meet you! I'm so glad that our girl has someone like you to keep her company at work. Especially with the love drama—"

“Hey, I don’t need your help. You had better take care of your business.” Maggie’s studio was in the east of Rose City downtown and next to a tourist attraction. Since it was summer, many tourists were coming. It was already midnight, and there were still many people there. Alice and Maggie sat in the window seat of that taco shop. They looked at how the tourists dressed, talked on the street, and made a ride comment. As a designer with good taste, Maggie thought these tourists were all dressed in a tacky way. Alice rolled her eyes toward her and said, “You have no right to talk about them! You should take a good look in the mirror and see how you look right now. You have guacamole in your m
