"Because I don't know what I would do if something happened to my daughter, and I can't imagine the kind of pain that man can carry," I replied seriously, and the matriarch smiled. "You are very noble and gentle, but magic can only happen if he truly believes in it," the matriarch said, and I understood the subtext. "To firmly believe in magic, you must create with great faith in the Goddess. You may see her, but if you don't feel that faith, it won't do any good."
