I felt myself panic while the soldiers laughed as they started to beat random Mages. Before I could do anything, the rogue mage walked over to me with a crazed smile on his face. “Hello little sister. I’m here to steal your power, while that idiot king shuts your stupid little rebellion down. Hope you had fun!” He wrapped his hands around my throat as started whispering in a foreign tongue that I vaguely remembered Eldon talking in. I felt my energy start to dwindle, finding it hard to breathe and focus on everything else going on.

Bruce asks me. I shake my head. "I could use a ride if you don't mind. I am not sure I am ready to drive today," I say. I know I am not ready to drive. "I can take you, but first, I have to tell you something. I made some calls while you were sorting through some things. I wanted to give you some space. I found both of your uncles. They own a little magic shop in New Orleans. It is called Elemental Magic," Bruce says.

Audrey looked at May and tried to plead with her eyes, saying she is innocent, but the moment May turned away, Audrey realized all was gone. Mia's Pov I stood alone in the heart of the woods, my voice echoing through the trees as I chanted the spell over and over again. Each repetition felt like a desperate plea, but the magic refused to respond. Frustration gnawed at me as I clutched the book of enchantments, flipping through its pages to ensure I hadn’t missed a single detail. The words were right, the movements were precise—so why the hell wasn’t it working?

"What do you care? Mind your own business spoiled brat," said Raven. Those who heard Raven's voice, including grandmother Mildred and Grave, were taken aback. They appeared terrified by Raven's icy voice. Well, I can't blame them. I've never encountered somebody with a voice that is as frigid or colder than Raven's. If I hadn't met Raven, I would never have known that such a voice could possibly exist. "Who are you? I'm sure you're not a royalty because as far as I know there are only 5 royalties in the Magisch academy," said Grave.

Then Amy and Jacqueline came in to look for her. Maddie appeared in the large room under Goat Square, where the four fireplaces were crackling. The high bookcases with the mobile ladders, the large oval tables, and the easy chairs were very atmospheric. Several students trickled in, to sit down at the table of herbalism and numerology, or at the table of spells, or history of magic. The latter remained Maddie's favorite subject. She also found proverbs very interesting. The Gaelic Scottish and Gaelic Irish subjects were very difficult subjects, only not for Maddie, because after the ceremony with the blood moon, she spoke it fluently.

I sit up a little more in the bed, take a deep breath and whisper, “My Bloodline's Book of Power, My bloodline's book of spells. I call you to me.” I smile as my bloodline's book of shadows appears on my lap. I open the cover and slide my hand over the first page. I take a deep breath in and close my eyes, letting my magick blend with the book. As soon as I lift my hand, the pages start to flicker, knowing what I need and not stopping until it reaches the spell incarnation I need.

I tip-toe and take it out. I look around and finally settle down on a short ladder, which I hadn’t noticed before and open the book. I skim through and to my dismay, find nothing. “Not a single mention,” I mutter under my breath. I shouldn’t have expected to find much. I take a deep breath and begin to peruse again. All the books have little to no mention of mages. Not a lot of things have been written. ‘As if they will keep a record of a monster,’ Ruelle sneers suddenly, irked. I let out a heavy sigh.
