The devil pulled away and turned Alexander to face the swirling cradle of magic. "It won't hurt, Win. You'll fall asleep and when you awaken, I'll be here with you." Win continued to stand there for a moment longer before taking a hesitant step forward. His hand came down to clutch at Adom again, and the warlock held on every step of the way. When Win stepped into the rolling mass, he continued to hold on—allowing the tendrils of of magic to ensnare him and pull him deeper into its depths. Adom was eventually forced to let go lest he be pulled in as well. His eyes took in the way the fingers continued to search for him for a few seconds longer until they went limp. Win's clothing began to di

“…Can I help?” Without hesitation, Auren thrust the sword into her hands. “You can have the sword.” “But then how will *you* fight?” she asked, wide-eyed. Auren held up Wolfie with complete and utter confidence. “I’ll use Wolfie. He’s very fierce.” I laughed before I could stop myself, the sound bubbling up warm and unexpected. The other children accepted this perfectly reasonable battle strategy without question and charged off toward their imaginary enemy, waving sticks and shouting battle cries that were far more enthusiastic than threatening.

said Gabriella. Winnie nodded and left the living room. She kept to her promise and came back a minute later. Now, when she arrived in the living room, Gabriella spotted something in Winnie's hand that looked like a hand bangle. Unfortunately, it was a magical bangle that Winnie mostly used when she wanted to charm someone or cast a spell on that person. Gabriella didn't say a word; rather, she sat quietly as she watched Winnie perform her magic to cast a spell on Alvina.

Usually, she was boisterous, loudly jabbering on about our roles as witches. Being a witch herself, Sungul was always proud of the status we hold in the world. People would look upon us as if we were gods. Magic was a mystery that most couldn’t understand. It was chaotic, unknowing and seemingly unyielding, and yet to them we were able to control it with a slew of words or a twirl of a wand. Together, they pushed through the throng of werewolves, vampires, and hybrids until they made it to where a witch was casting spell after spell. "You. Get this off her. Now." The witch—a tall, dark-skinned, and curly-haired woman—opened her eyes and raised an eyebrow at Maverick. "What?" Cinnia scrutinized the witch from head to toe, trying to find out if she knew her but when she came up with nothing, she put on a bright smile and shouldered Maverick out of the way just as the witch released a bolt of magic right behind her. Cinnia craned her neck to look and saw the smoking body of a vampire on the ground a mere distance from where she stood. "Thanks." She blew out a breath and then contin

He nods and he leads Blair inside the room. “Blair, can you sense if someone used magic on Xavier? We think there was another witch here trying to hurt Luna,” I say to her. She replies, “Yes, I can sense if magic has been used on someone, but I will not be able to track the witch using that magic.” “Why not?” Xavier asks her, “The witch will have cloaked themselves and their magic. That is why I have not sensed another witch in the palace. I have been trying to sense another witch since Xavier told me what happened, but I have not been able to,” she tells us.

Isabel said in a soft voice. “Damn,” Alexa muttered to herself. Alexa just stood there because of Isabel's time magic effect. Who would have thought the leader of the base could be defeated easily by the magical girl who looked like a model? “Very well. With this, I, Isabel Campania of Trossbourgh, Isabel ‘The Witch of Time’ will replace you as the best weapon magic user here, Chairperson Alexa.” ***
