Then, he kissed those lips again - this time in a long, gentle way. Laura opened her eyes. She touched her own lips. She could still feel the softness of Pablo’s lips. Her body shivered as if she was still in that moment. Then, she looked at her ring. She was finishing the last piece of her bread when she heard knocks on her door. She wondered as to who might want to see her that early. It couldn’t be her landlord as it was not yet the end of the month for the payment of her monthly due.

The email pinged, and I froze for a second before opening it. Almost perfect. Almost. Not quite the flawless mark I’d imagined after all those sleepless nights in the studio, the paint-stained hands, the endless staring at every stroke, trying to get the meaning just right.
