Just control, exercised quietly. The softest shade of gray—almost silver, almost pearl—washed across the cabinetry, seamless and matte, absorbing the light instead of reflecting it. No handles interrupted the surfaces; everything opened with a press, smooth and silent, as if the space resented noise. White marble counters veined faintly with ash-gray ran uninterrupted along the walls, cool and immaculate. The air itself felt curated. Clean in a way that had nothing to do with warmth and everything to do with maintenance. There was no lingering scent of food. No ghost of garlic or spice or oil.
