The Tycoon’s Temptress - Red Flower’s Chase
Dark wood floors gleamed under my boots, full-height Georgian paneling painted deep green-black, giving the room it’s moody, dramatic appearance that Maria loved so much.
Her favourite perfume bottle with rose and amber lined the dresser, next to her scarf, an old lipstick tube. The air still held her scent.
“Maria loves me,” I murmured, fingers brushing her scarf’s silk edge. “She always has.”
I uncapped a perfume bottle, inhaling deeply, it was still smelling like winter nights when she was mine.
Along the far wall, my curation: happy Polaroids from the years when she remembered what we were, and across from them, newer surveillance stills, time-stamped and neatly labeled.
