“My men are working on it,” I continued, running my finger over the glass top to ease off my nervousness. “She’ll be yours in no time.”
The bastard just stared, his lip twitching slightly.
“You told me that three weeks ago, Carlito,” Marcos said, his voice low and clipped. “I’ve lost billions! Billions! Because you can’t keep your side of the deal.”
I parted my lips to reply. I knew I had to say something, anything, before he unleashed his rage. But before I could say anything, Marcos sprang up from his seat with a fierce speed.
