Soulless Seas

Soulless Seas

But me, I’m miserable. “She will return. You know that right,” he says and I nod even though I don’t believe it. I have kept to what she taught us about the fishing grounds and since the sirens left, we have kept doing what we are doing. The other fishing companies have also reduced their fishing. Since the world knows that sirens inhabit our oceans. No one wants a repeat of the attacks. “I know. Right, I’m going for a walk. You coming?” I say as I stand and move around the desk and grab my jacket before putting it on. Taking my sunglasses out as I put them on as I walk through the company and outside.

Blood of The Shattered Moon

Blood of The Shattered Moon

The Core Sea is nothing like the ocean waters near Eclipsehaven. For one, it doesn't behave like normal water. The surface is calm—too calm, like glass—and the glow from below creates patterns that shift and swirl like living things. The ship cuts through without resistance, gliding as smoothly as if we're floating on air. For another, it's alive with magic. I can feel it pressing against my skin, testing the wards on the ship, seeking entrance. It's not malicious, exactly. Just curious. Ancient. Hungry for something it lost long ago.

A Regret too Late

A Regret too Late

"Over there! Something's wrong with that patch of water over there! It keeps on turning red. I wonder if it's from some injured animal, because it looked like blood." Maria's heart tightened. She immediately turned and looked at the others. "It might be a sea lion. There are a lot of them in this area. Let's take a look. If we can save it, we should." Scarlet and Cameron set their baskets of seashells down and quickly followed as the maid led the way. "Right here," the maid said when they reached a patch of reef. Maria was about to step around it when Cameron caught her arm. "You two are barefoot. I'll go."

Melancholy of the Sea

Melancholy of the Sea

When I was five, I was always excited whenever it was time for bed. My Grandma Momma will cook our dinner. Let me brush my teeth and comb my long hair. And after that, she will put me into bed and bedtime stories will follow. She told me a lot of fantasy stories, but my favorite was the pirate of the Lost Sea named Escarial. He was the epitome of perfection. Gentleman, handsome, a knight in shining armor to most of the ladies in their land, and most of all, he caught the heart of the brave princess, Athalia.

His Mate From the Sea

His Mate From the Sea

BALIN My Maserati MC20 glided to a stop in front of the Star Ocean mermaid center. I leaned back, studying the building’s facade. “Are you sure you want to get a mermaid from this center?” Jarek, my Beta, asked for what felt like the hundredth time today.

What the Sea Could Not Keep

What the Sea Could Not Keep

Robert Blackwell promised to marry me, then postponed it thirty-eight times. The fifth time, a car crash broke eight of his ribs, and I signed seven critical-condition notices. The tenth time, on the way to get our marriage license, he and the car were thrown into the sea, and his suit was torn apart by sharks. By the thirty-eighth time, his heart disease had worsened and his life was hanging by a thread. Eight months pregnant, I changed flights three times and flew twenty-three hours across half the world to find him. When the door opened, a little boy who looked exactly like him lifted his face and said, "I thought Mom was back." Robert rushed out barefoot, panic written all over his

glowed with a steady, sapphire light. "And?" Audrey asked. "The Sea of Salt’s End isn't a cliff, Mother. It’s a bridge," Mara said, handing over a roll of new, high-density parchment. "There are islands. Not made of glass or ice, but of living wood. They have their own resonance. They call it 'The Pulse'."

A Queen Among Tides

A Queen Among Tides

Almost had to admit myself to the infirmary which would have been a lovely addition to my day. Sea spirit is a type of seaweed also known as bladderwrack, and it is highly poisonous to sirna. For those of us who can morph, contact with it can stop us from morphing and it burns like a fucking bitch. If ingested or exposed to large amounts of it, it will kill you slowly and painfully. Learned that the hard way. I remember going for a swim with my parents as a child and being a kid, I did kid things. I found some seaweed and was going to throw it at my father as a joke, but the moment I grabbed it I remember screaming because my hand felt as though I’d dipped it in sulfuric acid. I’ve never see

Brooke Pilawa
Another amazing book! I feel as though each book is my favorite in this series and I love the representation. This particular author has an amazing way of challenging vernacular and using it to empower her characters. Her world building has you vested in the outcome of the story and characters.

Through The Storm

Through The Storm

Now that we have a destination in mind, it has become long and smooth sailing for us. Well, all except for me. I have this growing storm of anxiety deep in the pit of my stomach the closer that we got to the Mariana Trench. It was bad enough that Trei mentioned the sea monsters lurking in the depths of the ocean, but then he suggested that I should go and tame the sea king - as in, the leader of the sea monsters in the area.
