No one had made a sound throughout the time they were inside the library. While they; were engrossed inside the world of fantasy books, both Angelo and Mark’s phones vibrated- indicating that- their free time was up. The both of them stretched their tired muscles. They then closed the books they had requested from the library’s staff. The sound of bones cracking was heard- in the surroundings that- it made both Angelo and Mark dock their heads down so that- they could hide from the prying eyes of the librarian. So the search began. On my third shelf of books, I heard Mark groan as a whole isle came tumbling down and landed with a loud crash. "Oops." Marks muttered and covered his eyes. "You idiot!" I hissed and burst out laughing. We quickly picked up all the books and tried to put them in the correct places. "These books are so old and faded. Like, look at this one, it's falling apart." He stated holding up a blue book. "It looks like they never clean in here! The dust is so thick."

“Louder this time. The walls listen.” I swallowed. “Our bodies are vessels,” I recited, voice obedient, familiar words scraping my throat. “Our blood is borrowed. Our breaths are offerings. We are the chosen keepers of the Mark, the last gate between this world and the hunger beneath it.” “And the Mark?” she prompted. The skin on my left shoulder prickled as if it heard her. “The Mark is not a curse,” I said. “The Mark is the seal.” Mother Elara’s gaze softened, but not with affection. With reverence. With fear.

Looking through the shelves for fascinating books, I picked five books that I really liked. Holding the books in my arm, I walked toward the art section to get a new set of brush and paint but end up picking more than that, like I said before Art is my weakness. I took the books and art material I got to the cashier at the end of the shop. the cashier who looks like a guy of my age, stands behind the machine scanning the goods I just brought, he kept sneaking looks at me. I stretched my credit card to him, he swipes it on his machine then hands back the card together with the receipt, but he kept look at me.

Lillianna cried out unable to help herself. He just imprinted his initials onto her body… He pressed it so hard holding her arm hard so she could not go anywhere. He kept it pressed for a few minutes before he pulled it off her. She was in tears. AJ assessed the result before he turned her around roughly and showed the mark to Tristan. “What does that say?” He asked. “It says AJ… AJ… She is now marked. I have branded her as my own. Is that enough for you to understand that she belongs to me!”

It's more believable, and I think the Council will be understanding. The only issue is the massive mark Tobias has left on my neck. With four marks to take, if they're all this large, I don't know where they'll all fit. Zanthe thinks Lincoln should mark me beside Tobias's, so the pack might not notice they're two separate marks. But I know Lincoln wants his mark to be clearly distinguishable from Tobias's... Alpha pride and all that. Unless one of them marks me somewhere else on my body, although it's highly unusual, someone will need to overlap.

The words still shook inside me, though. “Old ink,” I said. I hated how thin my voice sounded. I cleared my throat. “There’s a mark in the margin.” “Show me,” he said. I slid the book an inch toward the light and flattened the page with my other hand. The crescent looked like any other line now. Ink on paper. My palm still burned. Rowan didn’t come around the table to stand over me. He stayed on the other side of the shelf with that fixed stillness he wore like a second skin.

“And still you should have honored that mark.” Nausea and disgust climb my throat; my mouth goes dry. I spit on his face. He does not relent. He tosses me aside by the chin. I land on my injured ribs and gasp. He hauls me up again . “Where is that forsaken wolf that dares to mark and defile me?” he roars. He tosses me again. “Let him come and protect you. Isn’t that what being marked entails? Or did you spread your thighs for him on a platter of some trivial feeling?”

Before I could finish, Joshua cut me off sharply. "Enough. I don't want to hear your excuses." His eyes were cold, filled with disapproval. "As the Luna of this pack, you're supposed to be kind and gentle. If you keep acting like this, I'll postpone our marking ceremony indefinitely!"
