Two of my warriors—Blaze and Rowan—step out of the trees behind me. They freeze. They look at me. Then at her. Then back at me. Blaze mouths silently, Did our Alpha just propose to a human? Rowan whispers, “Is he sick? Cursed? Should we call the healer?” I want the ground to swallow me. My mate stares at me like I’m completely insane. Then she says the words that shatter my pride in the dumbest way possible: “No. I don’t marry kidnappers or shirtless men!” She turns to run.

she says as I smile at Bentley. She waved at me with a big smile on her face and Mara puts her in her walker as we talk. "Good morning, boys. You guys ready to start the day?" Mara says, grabbing her coffee and kissing Z. "I mean, hell, I have to be. I'm getting married in six hours. Knowing my wife, she's probably been up since seven." I say, taking a sip of my coffee. Suddenly my phone rings. A smile paints onto my face as I answer.

"Once we're married, he'll never have another chance to harass you like this." I nodded and leaned against Matteo's shoulder. I knew I needed to marry Matteo as soon as possible and cut off Enrico's delusions completely.

It had bothered Lambs a little; hence, he did ask, and like always, Marrielle had a flimsy excuse up her sleeve. “Liora will be going out with her soon-to-be husband, and you know she will be luna, and such activities can’t be skipped,” she had said. Beta Lambs had no reason to doubt his fated mate. She was a part of him, and there was nothing to make both ladies be at odds. But returning from work that day wasn’t the same. "Stay out of matters regarding Lillian from now on." His words cut through me like ice. I raised an eyebrow. "Fine by me." He didn't notice the small smile that crept onto my lips. The Brookes were the wealthiest family in Sylverwood, worth billions, while my family, the Reeds, though not rich, had enough standing to be considered respectable. Marrying him was a match made in heaven, a union of equals. If it came down to it, should he choose to divorce me, I would cause a ruckus that would shake the city. That would make any future resolution even more difficult.

I groan after breaking away from Levi's lips, and he laughs and stands up. "Don't hate the messenger for delivering the message," he jokes. He winks at me and takes off his pants, letting me know he's heading for the shower. As soon as he leaves, I answer the phone. "Tell me all this isn't true," Matt's voice on the other end of the line. My heart suddenly stops. "None of it is true," I say between sighs. "Did you marry him by force?" "No," I answer. "But it was an arranged marriage," he affirms.

THE WORD marriage was a big word for me. If ever you’ll enter into the sacrament of marriage, you must be ready for the lifetime commitment because marriage wasn’t just a stage of life where you wanted to marry someone at first then if you get tired, you’ll leave him or her. In the stage of marriage, there was no room for playing. People weren’t playing at this stage. Before two people enter this stage, you two must be very sure that you love each other and that both are willing to enter into a lifetime commitment. Being married to someone was the starting point where you will be building a family with your partner.
