Kael’s voice exploded through the bond. “Okay, I officially hate whatever is happening underground right now!” Mara sounded tense.

The pain was immediate and overwhelming. My knees buckled, and I collapsed, my ancient strength meaning nothing against this technology. Through the pain, I saw Ravencrest moving. He grabbed Malakai and Seraphine, both still recovering from their earlier battle. "We're leaving," Ravencrest announced. "This is a wolf problem, not ours." "They're capturing all supernatural creatures," Luna shouted at him. "You're next on their list!"

The streets crawled with military Jeeps and personnel. Maya, entering the thrift shop where she did most of her shopping, greeted the owner, whom she knew well. "What's up with the soldiers?" she asked, glancing out the front window. "Aliens," said a gleeful Marco. "The military isn't saying, of course, but my cousin whose sister is married to the brother of the assistant to the base commander says they tracked the alien to town." Maya didn't try to follow the convoluted family connection the news came from, but the chill from his words, though, made her ask, "Do they know where he is?"

Alex gestured for him to say what he held in his throat "The study of the dead body that we found outside the body, the result was that it was a werewolf that killed him, meaning theirs a fourth now, the captor, our Luna, the syringe bearer and the one that likely saved her" Caleb said "If this theory is true, we could say she's safe, but if she's safe why isn't she here" Alex asked, a question that not even Caleb could answer

When the smoke dissipated, the dozens of black-horned ships, Harlan, and the aliens were still standing there unharmed. However, as the smoke from the explosions blocked Harlan’s vision, Mason and the other powerhouses fled and escaped the circle that the dozens of aliens had surrounded them in. Now, the two parties were confronting each other. One side consisted of the powerhouses from Earth with Mason as their leader.
