The children, eager and excited, gathered around as he stood in the front yard, holding a large box. "I have something for all of you," he said, his eyes twinkling with anticipation. "I thought you might enjoy it." He opened the box, revealing a collection of new books, games, and art supplies. The children's eyes lit up with joy, their excited chatter filling the air. "Thank you, Mr. Andrew!" they chorused, their faces beaming with happiness. Andrew smiled, his gaze shifting to Emily. "I wanted to do something special for them," he said, his voice soft. In the evening, Austin and Andrew made a bonfire, where we roasted marshmallows and told stories, Austin and Paige had a lot of them. “This day has made me doubt if I have ever had fun in my life.” Andrew stated. I chuckled, “Me too. We never had moments like this.” “Perhaps because you spent all of your spare time plotting your vengeance and have now fallen in love with the same person you were determined to kill.” Andrew said, which made me start thinking of Landon again. “I have never sat at a bonfire like this because, as you know, witches and fire don't make a good combination.” Paige said she was trying to shift the conversation with a little dark humour.

Christmas Eve morning is an overcast, dreary day with lots of snow falling. The light dusting of snow is very beautiful on the tree branches, especially the pine trees. I glance at Jason as I stand out of bed. He's still sleeping. Good. Now I can wrap his jacket and the baby clothes in a box for tomorrow. Shelbie is wrapping the gift from her and I. I wrap his present and as I was putting the silver bow on the top, I feel Jason's hand slide up my back into my hair where he scraps gently at my scalp.

I grumbled to myself as I slumped on a rock, giving up on moving any further in the dark. There were plenty of branches around that had fallen from the trees, and I thought for a moment about making a fire and possibly cooking something over it. "Oh, get real, Mara!" I snapped as I wrapped my arms around my knees, trying to hold on to what little heat I had left. "You are not a girl scout and wouldn't know how to hunt unless it was on a good bargain for the meat you cook on your stovetop."

The other has brown flats, then a set of earrings and the last one has series of romantic books which had Nana closing her eyes because of the covers -not that they are really bad but images of half naked women is not what she wants to see at the moment- what was Maaysa thinking? Is that why she was asking her about checking the gifts? Ugh.

Marcus said with a smile for Norm. Norm handed out the rest of the gifts. They were mostly for him, and Marcus any way as Lexi, Colby, and I would be exchanging gifts at home on Christmas. From Marcus I got a leather bound, purple dyed journal, and a new pen to go with it. I was excited to use it, as I had used almost half of my current journal already. His eyes grew wet, but just as it looked like he might cry, he stood. “I’m going to get some coffee,” he announced. “Okay.” I stared after him, keeping my sigh held back until he’d left the room. “Well, girl.” I looked over at Raven. “Are you ready to hear about all the hot trends for this New Year’s Eve?” By the time Andrew came back, I’d gotten through one article about new and creative ways to wear glitter and one about the most shocking celebrity breakups of the last year. Needless to say, I was learning a lot.
